Standards Against Child Sexual Abuse & Exploitation

Our Commitment

Thodang has a strict zero-tolerance policy against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. The safety of children is non-negotiable, and no content, behaviour, or community activity that sexualises, exploits, or endangers minors will ever be permitted on our platform.

These standards apply to all users, communities, posts, messages, and any other content shared through Thodang.

Prohibited Content & Behaviour

The following are strictly prohibited on Thodang:

  • Any content that sexually depicts, exploits, or abuses minors (child sexual abuse material — CSAM)
  • Grooming behaviour — building trust with minors to facilitate abuse or exploitation
  • Soliciting sexual content or contact from anyone under 18
  • Sharing, distributing, or linking to CSAM in any form
  • Any attempt to use Thodang to facilitate real-world harm to children
  • Content that normalises, glorifies, or encourages the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors

Violations will result in immediate and permanent account termination and will be reported to the relevant authorities.

Age Restrictions

Thodang is intended for users aged 13 and older. Users under 13 are not permitted to create an account. If we become aware that a user under 13 has registered, we will immediately delete their account and all associated data.

If you believe a child under 13 has an account on Thodang, please report it immediately via our Reach Us page or by emailing hello@thodang.com.

How to Report

If you encounter any content or behaviour on Thodang that you believe constitutes CSAE, report it immediately:

  • In-app: Use the report button on any post, profile, or community to flag it for immediate review.
  • Online: Submit a report via our Reach Us page — select “Report Issue” and describe the content. Include any relevant usernames, post links, or screenshots.
  • Email: Send details to hello@thodang.com with the subject line “CSAE Report”.
  • NCMEC CyberTipline (US): You can also report directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at missingkids.org/cybertipline.

How We Respond

When a CSAE report is received, we act immediately:

  • Immediate action: The reported account and content are suspended pending review.
  • Review within 24 hours: Our team reviews the report on priority.
  • Content removal: Confirmed CSAE content is permanently removed.
  • Account termination: Offending accounts are permanently banned with no possibility of reinstatement.
  • Law enforcement referral: Confirmed CSAE is reported to the relevant national authorities and to NCMEC as required by law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A).

Cooperation with Authorities

Thodang fully cooperates with law enforcement agencies and regulatory authorities investigating CSAE. We preserve and provide evidence as required by applicable law and maintain records in accordance with legal obligations.

We are committed to compliance with the NCMEC CyberTipline reporting requirements and applicable laws regarding the detection and reporting of child sexual abuse material.

Prevention Measures

We take proactive steps to prevent CSAE on the platform:

  • Community moderation — all communities are moderated and governed by our Terms of Service
  • User reporting tools — every piece of content and every profile can be reported in-app
  • Account review processes for patterns of harmful behaviour
  • Ongoing review of community guidelines to address emerging risks
